E-Devlet
E-Devlet is the electronic government system of the Republic of Turkey, which has extensive functionality. Through the website turkiye.gov.tr, you can instantly handle hundreds of tasks and obtain barcode-stamped documents without waiting in long lines. This app is especially useful when you are not in Turkey. After obtaining your residence permit card, you can get an E-Devlet password from any PTT branch in Turkey by presenting your residence document and paying a fee of 9 TL. Keep it safe; if lost, you can get a new one from PTT for 15 TL. The password is issued only to you, and it cannot be given to anyone else, even with a power of attorney.

Tax Identification Number
A tax identification number can be obtained online from https://dijital.gib.gov.tr/. There is no need for a residence permit; you can apply with your foreign passport upon entering Turkey. This number is required for opening bank accounts and can be used as an identification number for tax matters, certain purchases, and at notaries. It is similar to the VOEN in Azerbaijan. To get the number, go to https://dijital.gib.gov.tr/, select “Potential Tax Identification Number Application,” and fill out the form. The number will be provided to you as a PDF, so be sure to keep it safe, and ensure your passport information and address are accurate.
